Neither are grief rollbacks, but we get them
They're perfectly legit. Legit means no items are spawned in and gameplay is vanilla. Griefing rollbacks don't spawn in items (because the griefers are banned), and they don't change gameplay. In contrast, this would provide a gameplay benefit not intended by Mojang, making it non-legit.

Protecting horses is not spawning items in and it's not vanilla but niether is coreprotect. Also coreprotect rolls back griefs but not the items the player got from the grief, spawning in the items :P
The players who griefed almost always have the griefed items still in their inventories, removing them from the game upon their ban. And did you not understand what I said? Vanilla isn't the issue, legit is, and legit means that gameplay has to be vanilla. CoreProtect doesn't directly affect gameplay, while this "Horse Protection System" would, by keeping your mobs safe for you, which is part of the challenge of the game. CoreProtect is different, since keeping your structures safe from griefing was never intended to be part of gameplay, as compared to protecting your mobs, which was.

Well you said that protecting horses would be non legit since mojang didn't intend them to be protected. CoreProtect would also be considered non legit with all the other plugins minerealm uses since mojang didn't intend realms to be protected and griefs rolled back :P
However, griefing is not an intended part of gameplay, while mob interaction is.

I think griefing is a intended part of game play, or else mojang would have minecraft servers with grief protection.
