The contents of the question imply that it is a question. The question marks are just there to assist people and reduce confusion. Some languages, like Japanese don't actually require question marks.

I haven't, but some of the steelwork for my new shed has while it's been sitting in the back yard waiting for me to put it up. So I get to play the game "Sand back the rusted areas, reprime the steel and paint it all" tomorrow on New Year's Day.

I understand your point here and i seemed to be a bit strict right then, I just would like for anyone who receives it to be surprised. Besides, would you rather someone give you the diamond unawares and realize that you are special to someone... or to ask for it, and practically achieve nothing except for the power to pass it on to someone you think is special.
