Post [INVALID] Disable /spawn ?
One of the biggest problems of minerealm is the overpopulated spawn region.
You have to walk at least 500 blocks to find a completely mined out public realm, one of those that survived the wipe and disbanded later.
Also, many people requested "real survival" = more monsters, no teleportation

What if we disable the /spawn command?
Every newbie who enters the server will spawn in a room to read the rules. then we would teleport him to a random public realm on the map (/home).

Players could still found cities, and other players could settle arround.
Players Cities would become more important if there is no official spawn city.

Why is this even being suggested?

Absolutely not. That's that.

For those who think this is absolutely crazy, here's the deal. Making it so there is very little teleports in the game can be quite fun in the long run - Making a subway, meeting people, building a city together, it's all a lot more fun when done 100% survival.

Although it would indeed make it somewhat difficult for people to see each other, or PVP, for example.

Although I'd totally like to play on a server like that, it isn't for MineRealm.

How about:

  • Keep /spawn
  • Eliminate /trade
  • Make trade room accessible from the area around /spawn

It would reduce the amount of warping back and forth while still keeping Spawn City as a major hub of MR activity.

This seems like a sensible alternative - I find spawn incredibly useful to meet up with players, and despite the fact it is teleporting, I would rather have this one command than have to walk 2000+ blocks every time I want to meet to someone/get free melons.
