Hey everyone,

This is a courtesy notice that we will be de-spawning a large number of animals over the upcoming weeks.

The exact details of this are still being determined. However, the new system will likely be similar to the old system, and be based on 3 entities per #x# area.

This change is being made due to abuse with the current system, with thousands of animals presently being active on the server, which is causing the server TPS to drop.

Please do not say this includes villagers. This will effectively decimate villager towns/farms, and can easily wipe out a whole village. Too many entities in one area, even only being pigs/cows could result in removing the villagers instead of the cows/pigs.

Man, just when my XP grinders were working at full capacity, too...

Is there some way to work in a provision that keeps a group of mobs from de-spawning for, say, 10 minutes or so? At least long enough to get a good batch to kill at once?

Culling suggestion.

Make the limit pertain to animals only and keep track of the friendly mobs across all of the players realms currently in memory. Then the player can keep their animals all in one place but not have to space them out for no reason.
