*Sigh* Well, I dun goofed.
First and foremost, let me say that what happened was my fault. After the Global Purging, I was looking to expand my base (was going to put in a bedroom and wrap around hallway). But, since I didn't want to dig into sections I already had built and wasn't in the mood to count blocks all night, I switched the Terrain file in my Minecraft.jar with one that made dirt and normal stone mostly see-through (I'll get to this later). So I carve out the area I want (or at least start doing so), then I remember something: There were a bunch of new passages branching to the mine complex behind my base (it was going to be a full 50x50 cube when I was finished) and I now had the means to find out where they came from without getting lost too much. So I decided "hey, why not?" So I went down to the mine when dropped down to bedrock. I was heading towards where some of the tunnels were when I got distracted by a cavern I could see through the rock (again, will get to the texture thing a little bit later). On the ceiling, I saw a gold vein. Aaaaaaand then I got greedy. Instead of going ahead and checking out the tunnels, I ended up digging up to the cavern (surprisingly hitting a few veins on the way). I was clearing out some lava when an admin showed up and banned me.
As for the texture thing: As stupid as it sounds, I was not aware that textures such as the one I was using were a ban-worthy offense until I read it like ten minutes ago. Had I of read it earlier, I would not have used the textures that I did (I'm usually pretty good about following the rules to be honest). I know ignorance of the rules isn't....good, but it's the truth. I didn't read the rules when I joined (got the IP from one of those "top 10 Minecraft servers" sites) and I broke said rules that I should have read.
I know I screwed up, but I would greatly appreciate a second chance. I've deleted the files in question (Screenshot on request) and the source that I got the textures from has taken the pack down (Planet Minecraft). As the files are no longer present, I am both unable and unwilling to do anything of this nature again (that being I will not use anything related to x-ray textures or mods).
