Thought I'd put up a new post with actual pictures of my car. The old boy has been serving me faithfully, and shouldn't need work for awhile. Tires are good, just replaced almost the entirety of the rear brakes, fixed the trunk release after 3 years of it not working, cleared the yellowing on the headlights and tided up a scrape from stem to stern on the driver's side. It may seem like a piece of trash, but it's my piece of trash and I love it. If it can last me the next five years, that would be perfect.

At the endless mocking of my brother, I actually take the time every one or two months to vacuum the inside, polish the windows, and give it a solid wash and wax over the whole outside. I'm aware the clear coat over the paint is peeling off, but I don't really have the money to get that redone or the skill to do it myself.
Take care of a car and it will take care of you.

As far as actual car information, it's a 5-speed manual with a 1.5 L 4-cylinder engine.
Back when my dad bought it (2000) it was the cheapest version he could get. Manual windows, absolutely no power locks, two doors only, no anti-lock brakes, etc.
None of this has been a problem except my girlfriend never remembers to lock her door when she gets out.

Also, check the perfect 1:00 AM license plate Photoshop job.

Nice Meowrocket ... first cars are always special, no matter what they look like - they're freedom :)

Just realised I never actually posted a serious answer to the thread. This is very much a hobby car for me now and hasn't been driven in over 12 months, but for many years it was my daily driver. Bought it stock and have built it to where it is now over time. Spoiler'd as there are a few pics :D
Spoiler:
First day of ownership ... totally stock
Image

Early days ... slightly bigger tyres + hideous bullbar
Image

Fun but not particularly capable offroad at this point
Image

Way too much effort...
Image

Fridge goes in the left; general storage on the right
Image

Side pockets for recovery gear and spares
Image

Moved state - 2700km with myself, wifey, two dogs and trailer. Lights look stupid but with 4x 55W HIDs were as bright as you could want
Image

The dogs enjoyed the trip
Image

New state, new terrain
Image

Mud. Had a thing for it once. Over it now.
Image

The moment when I decided I needed more clearance, more tyre, more flex and more grip =)
Image

Yup, definitely need more flex
Image

Right, sorted. Bigger tyres, reduction gearing, custom front bar, locked diffs front and rear, custom suspension, body lift, transfer reinforcement, rebuilt motor, whatever else I've forgotten
Image

Nice stance IMO. Looks stock if you don't know better.
Image

Oooh, flexy!
Image

Image

A quick trip to the top of our state and back - 4100km in 8 days. Built the camper too.
Image

Doing it's thing

Just picked this up to cart my work tools around and validate my 'dad' status. Only the 210kW V6 version - couldn't justify the 304kW 6.2L LS3 V8 - but with lots of leather and fancy electrickery.

It's the last of the Australian made Holden Commodores - a VF Calais V.

So I do not really drive this but I ride around in it and others near it such as the 1, the 5a, the 5c, the 5e, the 51 and the 52...... during work. When visiting friends or the mall I take the 6, the 7, the 10, the 25, the 26 or the 34....
