 Re: Make PvP Logging Illegal.
So, basically, you can't slaughter them, so it is unfair...? That's what I get out of this suggestion.

 Re: Make PvP Logging Illegal.
I say yes to this cause if you go into pvp, you are doing it to win and survive at a risk of loosing yourself and the items you have on you. Not to be a coward and not show proper sportsmanship. I suggest if you go into pvp, your ability to log out and /home is disabled until you disable pvp.

 Re: Make PvP Logging Illegal.
/home is already disabled.
Removing logging is impossible, but it's already illegal to log during a fight on purpose.
There isn't really any need for this thread, in my opinion.

~dlgn It's only illegal to log out, and back in for the few second of a grace period, where no damage can be done to you.

~dlgn It's only illegal to log out, and back in for the few second of a grace period, where no damage can be done to you. Here's the problem. I can think of valid reasons that someone would need to log during PVP. Restricting someone's ability to leave is something that we just can't do, I think, due to IRL considerations. What if there's some sort of emergency, or if they just have to leave? It isn't really fair if they have to give up the fight or be banned in this sort of situation. Worse, there's no way of telling if someone logs during PVP because of a valid reason, or just for no reason whatsoever. I believe that this will (and should) fail, partially due to the same reason that portal camping is allowed (the admins can't tell if they're doing something actually bannable or not), and partially due to the fact that IRL takes precedent over MineRealm for most people, except the odd MineRealm addict--and it should. ~dlgn EDIT: I meant to mention power outages too, thanks Jon. I think your idea is very good. Alternately, we could perhaps fine the offenders? The amount of the fine depends on why the admins think they had to log. Or perhaps prison...nah. Community service?

~dlgn Powers cuts could be another reason, some log outs are not intentional by the person logging out. Power cuts and disconnections could be the cause of this log out. There are also IRL situations which will involve logging out as dlgn has already mentioned. Real life should take priority over MineRealm, as dlgn has already said. However, logging out intentionally to avoid getting killed however should be prohibited in some way, but not by ban. My suggestion to it is also being used on a server I used to play on, and it's effective, but needs a little coding on Intelli's front (which is probably why this solution I have will get shot down by admin). What happens is when one person attacks another person, the aggressor has 'tagged' the victim. This tag last for say, five seconds or so. If the victim logs out within that time period, they automatically die losing all items. Granted, this isn't fair on those who have to leave for Real Life reasons, or those who end up on the receiving end of a power cut/disconnection, however, it is a lot more fair on them and everyone else than a ban. Also, it'll result in a lot less ban requests for staff to deal with than if we used the initial solution of banning. Just my $.02, guys. :3

 Re: Make PvP Logging Illegal.
Relogging in combat gives the relogger a few seconds of invincibility after they rejoin.
My suggestion is that if someone has been injured by a player within the last 10 seconds, and then disconnects, they will instantly be killed upon rejoining. Or, a debuff could be applied to them using potion effects, these could include slowness or weakness.
